Ruut in Concert
Ruut DeMeo, The Finlandia Foundation National Performer of the Year will perform in Thomaston, Maine
on Saturday, September 26, 2026.
Finlandia Foundation National proudly presents multidisciplinary artist Ruut DeMeo in a captivating performance. Her work has been described as “Substantive songwriting, with remarkable dynamics, moving melodies, and ballad-like moments, she creates a deeply intimate atmosphere.”
Obscure Sound describes Ruut as, “Introspectively gripping.” Illustrate Magazine writes, “Striking vocal range and lyrical tenderness.” Mystic Sons calls her “An artist reconnecting with her foundations before stepping into a new chapter.” Born in Kuopio, Finland—the third of four daughters to young Sibelius Academy students—Ruut was immersed in music and film from childhood, playing piano by ear and writing songs by the age of seven.
Her performance will be at 5:00 pm at the Federated Church of Thomaston at 8 Hyler St, Thomaston, ME.
Coffee and Finnish Pulla will be served.
There will be a suggested $10.00 per person donation at the door.
She is being sponsored by the Finnish Heritage House of South Thomaston.
