UA-50763958-1 Language Class Info | FINNISH HERITAGE HOUSE

TO: Fellow Finnish Americans, Galvanized Finns and Learners of the Finnish Language

DATE: June 11, 2018

FROM: Steven Gifford, Marja-Leena Bailey, Beverly Bartlett

We have had a successful run of Finnish language courses in Thomaston for many years. However, to our great surprise and disappointment, this year we had to cancel the April weekend beginners class and the 5th annual June one week intensive class due to lack of enrollment.

We are having a meeting on Saturday, October 13th of all interested Finnish language learners to determine whether there is still an interest in continuing to offer Finnish language classes and if yes in what kind of format; week long, weekend, convenient months, etc.

We are very fortunate to have a teacher like Maria-Leena Bailey to teach us. She has retired from Middlesex Community College and plans on spending more time in her hometown of Kuopio, Finland so we will need to coordinate classes with her trips to Finland.

MEETING DATE: Saturday, October 13th

TIME: 1:00pm

PLACE: Finnish Congregational Church (Jura Hall) - South Thomaston, Maine

It is important that you join us at this meeting to help us determine how to best meet your needs regarding future Finnish language classes.
